Practising Guan Yin Citta Heals My Broken Relationship with My Dad
My deepest gratitude to Greatly Compassionate and Greatly Merciful Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Dharma protectors , Master Lu and my dear Dharma friends .
Since young, I had a problem communicating with my dad. Although I know he loves me very much but due to his business failure and financial problem in our family, he frequently showed temper in the house and I was scolded and beaten for not doing a good job when helping out in his business or even house chores.
For more than 30 years , I was never allowed to speak my mind or given an opportunity to make decisions. Most of the time, I had to give in because my father was the head of the family and he was extremely fierce. My parents frequently argued andhe would throw and break things in the house. During their argument, my brother, sister and myself would hide underneath the chairs and tables. There was once he even broke my mom’s arm, she cried and never came back home for a month. We then cleaned up the broken things, food and all the mess that they had made in the house. This was my recollection of my life when I was living with my parents.
Now I have been staying with my own family. I would visit them almost every week. To avoid arguments, we rarely talk unless necessary. Last few months, he screamed at me over a small matter but I chose to keep quiet in order not to make things worse or be rude to my dad. As a matter of fact, I was deeply upset with him because no matter how much I love him, he never changed.
I desperately needed Greatly Compassionate and Greatly Merciful Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s help. I understand that all these are karmas due to past lives and I had to make great vows to untie karmic knots with my dad for all these years. The next day, I made 3 great vows. First vow was to recite 7 Little Houses to untie karmic knots with my dad. Second vow was to perform life liberation and promised 500 fishes to be released. Lastly, I vowed to transfer 20% of my virtues that I accumulated in my whole life to untie this karmic knots.
Immediately, I started reciting the Little Houses I promised and completed those 7 within 3 days. When I met my dad on the fourth day, I was completely stunned as my dad began to talk to me gently and he even felt bad about how he talked tome a few days ago. I can’t believe my conflict with my dad finally ended within such a short period . It’s just miracle because my dad never talk to me this way all my life! It’s a blessing from Guan Yin Bodhisattva.
I am thankful to Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu for helping me along the way. Thank you to all my Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door brothers and sisters for your sharing. Without the blessings from Bodhisattva, I may still be struggling today. I will sincerely help more people to know about Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and I am determined to be one of the thousand arms and thousand eyes of Guan Yin Bodhisattva.
